All About the Siege

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a first-person shooter game, in which players utilize many different operators from the provided Rainbow team. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft on November 26, 2015. The platforms you can play on are PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows, Google Stadia.

There are two tasks when you are playing Rainbow Six Siege.  There is an attacking task, and a defensive task. The attacking team’s job is to try and kill the entire defensive team, or complete the given objective in the allotted time. The defensive team’s job is to prevent the attackers from killing the whole team and also stop them from completing the objective in the given time. Each team is made up of 5 players, who each bring a different skill set and ability to the team.

The game creators have made 63 playable operators and every season a new operator is introduced. Each operator is created with a background story giving more life and connection to the player and the character.

This game can be played by all skill levels from beginner to professionally experienced. The game utilizes real world combat features like recoil on a gun, damage from high falls, different speeds of operators depending on their armor, and this also affects their overall health. Having played this game I would recommend Kapkan as a great defensive operator to use. His weapon is very low on recoil making it easier to use, and his defensive ability (entry denial device) is also very easy to set up, and does a good amount of damage to the enemy team. On the attacking side I would recommend the operator Finka who’s gun has little recoil, and her attacking ability provides additional health to her and her teammates.

Rainbow Six Siege launches in game events. These events are game modes that give players a new reason to keep playing Rainbow Six Siege and something different from what they are used to. Each event is only available for a short period of time.

There is also a professional tournament called the Six Invitational. This is a professional tournament which is hosted by Ubisoft every year. There are 16 teams invited to the competition, and these teams are made up of some of the best Rainbow Six Siege players in the world.

I would give this game a rating of 9/10. It is definitely a great game for those who are looking for a realistic shooting game, and want to explore their skill on a competitive level. It does take time to become good at the game, but once you get the hang of it you will surely be playing more and more.
