in education, real-world testing, and gaming.

2016 saw a rise in virtual reality, with the release of the Oculus Rift and the D-Scope Pro. These headsets have head tracking information that tracks the movements of the user so that they are no longer looking at a two-dimensional image, but instead a full 360-degree immersive environment.

It’s this ability that virtual reality possesses that will allow innovators to use technology to bring an unseen view of the world. Virtual reality can allow
you to experience events that you can’t attend.

“We created a Virtual reality system to have students take part in events that SkillsUSA participates in. For example, we
did the Breast Cancer walk and used the system to display what we did at the walk. We shot a 360-degree video, and use that video with glasses so you can walk around and make it seem as if you were on that walk,” Kalloo said.

Virtual reality is becoming more available and realistic as companies find ways to incorporate different materials to lower the weight and cost of the products. In the near future, virtual reality will be readily available to a wide range of consumers.
