Principal for a Day, What Would You Change?

Imagine that you were principal for a day and could change anything. What would top your list? The Edison community has an expansive wish list from “creature comforts,” to make the school year more enjoyable.

Antiklia Howard Jones, a senior, had said she would, “Re-evaluate the teachers during the middle of the school year to make sure they are keeping up to standards.” Many students agree with her statement.

Alisha Ropchand stated that,”I would try to make the school more colorful and creative. Like have colored walls, more paintings. Try not have a dull looking school both inside and outside.”

According to Asbury Park Press,  9.41% of students would have later start times, 8.36% would increase teachers’ pay and 7.67% of students, supposedly, would ban cellphone use in classrooms. Students from Edison had said otherwise in their response.

Zareen Pasha had stated that,”First I would expand the girls’ locker room. It is really crowded in there. I would also get more teachers that are skilled enough to actually help students learn, not make them feel bad, and I definitely won’t leave graduation and prom til last minute.”

Christopher Segura had stated that,”I would decrease the population in this school. I would make sure the bathrooms have hand sanitizer and deodorant.”

Nishanth Prajith would get more clubs including a culinary club and Parbinder Bains had stated that she would make sure the school offers, “vegetarian options for lunch… let students have access to vending machines at all times.”
